Three Army personnel were injured after unidentified terrorists opened fire at a security force camp in Assam’s Tinsukia district early Friday. The incident took place around 12:30 am at the Kakopathar Army camp when the attackers reportedly fired from a moving vehicle before fleeing the scene.
According to the Army spokesperson, the personnel sustained only minor abrasions and no major injuries were reported. Troops on duty retaliated immediately while ensuring no civilian casualties occurred, as the camp is located close to residential areas near the Assam-Arunachal border.
Security forces have since cordoned off the area, and a joint search operation with local police is underway to trace the assailants. Authorities suspect the attack was intended as a “speculative firing” to provoke a response from the forces.
